Because Mabe's offers a variety of Maine items to unique individuals such as yourself, we give you the flexibility to choose the shipping method that best fits your needs and order.
Mabe's will not be responsible for incorrect addresses, customer's shipping choice or any delays in deliveries.
Special Packaging Required for Seafood Orders
Special insulated shipping packages are available as an option for all customers, and are recommended when ordering chocolates in warm/hot months. They are required for all seafood orders, year-round. The cost of $5 covers one insulated shipping package, which will hold up to 36 Seafood Cakes. So, your best deal on seafood cake orders is to buy any multiple of 36!
Please be advised that the Special Insulated Package(s) and shipping cost will automatically be added to your order or billed separately if you have not already selected it. This also applies if your order requires additional boxes; you will be charged for the number required.
If your order includes the special insulated packaging, you will also be issued a gift certificate (value $3.00 - $50.00, depending on quantity and items ordered) that you can use for future orders.
Seafood Shipping Terms
Customers are advised to have all seafood orders shipped by an OVERNIGHT DELIVERY method: currently either UPS Next Day or USPS Express Mail Delivery are available.
Please realize that overnight delivery refers to the day the product is shipped, not ordered. Mabe's makes your gourmet seafood items fresh - after you order them! Orders are typically shipped within 24-48 hours; however, due to Saturday delivery prices, shipments are typically made Monday-Thursday, so the number of days until your order is shipped will depend on what day you shop. Watch for your delivery on Tuesday-Friday.
If you require/prefer Saturday delivery, we are happy to ship on Friday, but an additional delivery charge of $20 will automatically be added to your order or billed separately.
Shipping vs. Billing Address
The shipping address is where you want your order delivered.
- Please be certain to enter complete street address in the shipping address form for any items shipped via UPS.
- PO Boxes are acceptable shipping addresses if the USPS is selected as the shipping carrier.
For your protection, the billing address must match the billing address of the credit card you use for your order.
General Shipping Terms
All orders are shipped with NO SIGNATURE REQUIRED. Especially in the summer, you are advised to watch for your delivery (or alert the gift recipient) in order to refrigerate any chocolate orders and refrigerate or freeze any seafood orders immediately upon arrival.
Orders that do not include seafood are also typically shipped within 24-48 hours.
Mabe's does not ship on national holidays, the day before Thanksgiving, Christmas eve, or New Year's eve.
Cooking & Handling Suggestions
Seafood is very perishable; Mabe’s Gourmet Seafood Cakes should remain frozen (up to six months) or refrigerated (up to 2 days).
Pan or deep fry cakes in butter or oil of choice at medium heat until golden brown and cooked through, approximately 2-3 minutes per side.
Serving Suggestions
Single serve as an appetizer, double up for an entrée or serve on a toasted bun for a quick, healthy and satisfying snack. Serve your gourmet seafood cakes with a wedge of fresh lemon or compliment them with your very own condiment.
